AC3.3 Flashcards
what are limitations of agencies in achieving social control.
repeat offenders
civil liberties
access to resources
finance
why is repeat offenders an limitation in agenises achieving social control.
if offenders fail to rehabilitate they will re offend so social control will never be achieved .
re offending is why the prison population has dramatically increased, anyone leaving custody within 2 days must be supervised for 12 months, leads to people being recalled back into prison.
this doesn’t achieve social control since prisons are spending money on things such as uniform, food and beds and not programmes which will stop re offending
why is civil liberties an limitation in agenises achieving social control
civil liberties are the basic human rights for example freedom of speech and movement.
this can be seen as a limitation for police in achieving social control since people have the freedom of speech and movement.
why is access to resources and support a limitation in achieving social control
limits prisoners from being able to rehabilitate and therefor bring about social control.
upon release prisoners face problems with finance, accommodation and employment.

this limits the police massively since they have faced the worst budget cuts and there is no signed in there budget increasing.
