Absolute Zero Definition

A

Absolute zero is the point where no more heat can be removed from a system, according to the absolute temperature scale. This corresponds to 0 Kelvin or -273.15°C.

Procedure

A

1- We connected out pressure port connector to a pressure sensor and we plugged the pressure sensor into the USB slot of our P.C. 2- We boiled water in our kettle and proceeded to pour water into our bucket ( containing the absolute zero sphere ) until the sphere was completely submerged. 3- Once we ensured our apparatus was connected to our pressure and temperature sensor, we proceeded to click ‘‘Record’’ on our absolute zero program. 4- We observed the digits change and display temperature, letting it record even when the changing stopped. 5- We added ice cubes to our water bucket to start the cooling process, dumping out excess water when the bucket became too full. ( The absolute zero sphere always remained submerged ). 6- We cooled the water bucket by about 10°C and repeated the 2 steps prior. 7- We repeated this process until the temperature decreased as low as possible. 8- We clicked ‘‘Stop’’ on the recording. 9- We observed our graph, recording notes and drawing it.
