a painful collection of pus, usually caused by bacterial infection

• Pus = mixture of dead tissue + white cells + bacteria

• Immunosuppression e.g. diabetes mellitus, renal failure

- Swollen, pus-filled lump under the surface of the skin
* associated fever and chills

USS is first line
CT abdomen is investigation of choice

A
• Incision and Drainage
along with antibiotics
