Q

Injustices that Aboriginal peoples suffered as a result of colonisation.

A

As squatters and pastoralists moved throughout the continent, taking land for farming, they intruded on the traditional lands of the people who inhabited each area. Often when Aboriginal peoples attempted to defend their lives and land they were killed, sometimes in organised massacres.

Q

Which of these injustices were the result of white settlers’ ignorance of Aboriginal spirituality.

A

It is now well known that white settlement of the Australian continent often meant destruction and death for Aboriginal peoples and their cultures. The white settlers did not understand how important the land was to the Indigenous people, and how distressing it was for them to be removed from it. These were the results of white settlers’ ignorance of Aboriginal spirituality, as the injustices were what Aboriginals were connected to.
