Features of Aboriginal Communities
- Greater percentage living off of reserve over time
- Population by age is bottom-heavy
- Lowered birth rates over time and tend to occur much younger (15-24)
- Greater amounts of diabetes with complications
- Children may be larger upon birth (diabetes)
- Greater number of emergency visits
- In terms of children, 10% of AB chidren are FN, but 67% of children in foster care are FN
