How to tell if someone is abnormal as of statistical infrequency
outside the normal distribution curve

Can be based of wide range of tests with a large result pool, e.g IQ test
Failure to function adequately
Cannot cope in their daily lives
Maladaptive Behaviour
Behaviour that goes against their long term interests
Personal anguish
Individual Suffers from anxiety or distress
Observer Discomfort
Individuals behaviour affects those around them
Irrationality
Behaviour is unpredictable
Unconditionality
Behaviour typically is not what is expected by wider society
Deviation of social norms
Behaviour that is not expected by society/ seen an unusual behaviour
Strength of deviation of social norms
Takes into account the social norms of different society
Weakness of deviation from social norms
Changing from one society to another changes social norms those who don’t change shouldn’t be seen as abnormal
