What is defined as a delayed latent phase?
Longer than 3-8 hours to get to 4cm.
When should external cephalic version be carried out if multi or nulliparous?
Nulliparous = 36 weeks
Multiparous = 37 weeks.
note: carries risk of rh auto-immunisation.
How should a breech presentation be delivered?
LSCS.
A fetal blood sample of <7.2 indicates what?
Indicates acidosis , deliver immediately
Fetal blood sample 7.2-7.25 indicates what?
borderline, repeat in 30mins.
When can you not perform an op vaginal delivery?
If the head is not yet at station.
Management of shoulder dystocia?
McRobert’s manoeuvre. Flex legs and suprapubic pressure.
Presentation of amniotic fluid embolism?
SOB, chest pain and desaturation in latter stages of labour.
Who repairs a 2nd degree tear in labour?
A midwife.
When is a uterine rupture most commonly seen?
In a vaginal birth after Caesarean.
Associated with loss of engagements, fetal distress and shock.
