Explain why the rectus sheeth is surgically important

A

= the rectus sheeth is comprised of the aponeuroses of the abdominal oblique mm. and the transversus abdominis m.

It is important to cut at the linea alba where all these converge in the center, so that you do as little damage as possible to the associated layerd muscles. (see slide)
