- pyelonephritis (radiates to back)
* renal/ureteric stones (severe, waxing and waning pain which radiates loin to groin)

A
pancreatitis = lots of V

ΔΔ medical causes in the acute abdomen?
A
- HEART: inferior MI (remember in DM, MI can be “silent” and present with no pain but V and D only)
- LUNG: lower lobe CAP/PE
- ENDOCRINE: DKA, Addison’s, hypercalcaemia
- AI: vasculitis (HSP), SLE
- BLOOD: porpyhria, sickle cell crisis, hereditary angioedema, etc etc

Crohn’s - more likely right lower quadrant
UC - more likely left lower quadrant
