Normal finding-
visualizing peristalsis and aortic pulsations in thin clients
Normal bowel sounds-
high pitched, gurgling 5-34 in a minute
Abnormal Bowel sounds-
absent after auscultating for 5 minutes
Borborygmus-
loud rumbling or gurgling noise made by
the movement of fluid and gas in the intestines.

turbulent blood flow with the bell of the stethoscope
percussion normal finding
tympany
Light palpation identifies
muscle resistance and tenderness and superficial organs
Deep palpation identifies
organ enlargement, tenderness, masses
Abnormal findings-REBOUND
TENDERNESS
-pain upon sudden withdrawal of fingers after deep palpation
organs in RUQ
liver, gallbladder, pylorus, duodenum, head of pancreas
organs in LUQ
spleen, stomach, body + tail of pancreas, transverse colon
organs in LLQ
sigmoid colon, descending colon, left ovary (female)
organs in RLQ
cecum, appendix, right ovary (female)
