Purpose: ABCD Repetition Subtest
To evaluate the ability to repeat nonmeaningful phrases that are controlled for length.

Does the ABCD Repetition Subtest contain trial items?
Yes - the clinician asks the examinee to repeat phrases.
If the examinee cannot repeat a phrase during a Repetition Subtest trial item, what does the clinician do?
The clinician states, “I cannot repeat it, but let’ s go to the next item. Repeat this phrase -….”
Criteria for Discontinuing: ABCD Repetition Subtest
Discontinue the test if the examinee is unable to repeat any syllables in the first five stimuli.
What do the test stimuli consist of for the Repetition Subtest?
- Six syllable phrases
2. Nine syllable phrases
How are points awarded for the Repetition Subtest?
One point is awarded for each syllable correctly repeated in the proper order [Examiners may find it helpful to make a slash through each correctly repeated syllable].
