A350 Hydraulic System Flashcards
How many hydraulic systems does the A350 have and what are they?
- 2
- Green and Yellow
What is the normal operating pressure of the hydraulic system?
5000psi
Which system monitors and controls the hydraulic systems on the A350?
Hydraulic Monitor and Control (HMC)
In the event of one or dual hydraulic failures what backups do the following systems have?
- Flight Controls
- Slats
- Flaps
- Braking
- Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators (EHA)and Electrical Backup Hydraulic Actuator (EBHA)
- Electric Motor
- Outer flaps
- Brake accumulator
How does the hydraulic system on the A350 prevent cavitation?
By self pressurizing the hydraulic reservoirs.
When do the FSOV’s close?
- ENG FIRE pb is pressed
- ENG SUPPLY pb is pushed
Can the FSOV’s be opened in flight?
No, maintenance action is required on the ground.
When can the ELEC PUMP be used on the hydraulic system? Why?
- Only on ground when all engines are off.
- Due to its operating frequency of 400Hz which may be disturbed by the variable frequency generated by the engine generators.
For what reason may the GREEN / YELLOW ELEC PUMP be used?
- Green: - To reinflate braking accumulator
- Maintenance/ECAM via GND HYD panel - Yellow: - To reinflate braking accumulator
- Cargo door operation
- Maintenance/ECAM via GND HYD panel
At what temperature does the hydraulic heat exchanger start opening and when is is fully open?
Starts at 60C and is fully open at 80C.
Which hydraulic system do the gear doors and main landing gears use?
Green
Which hydraulic system do the brakes use?
A350-900: Front two (1,2,3,4)- Yellow
Rear two (5,6,7,8)- Green
A350-1000: 1,2,3,4,6,8 - Yellow
5,7,9,10,11,12 - Green
Which hydraulic system do the nose wheel doors and gear use?
Yellow
Can the FSOV be opened once closed?
No, only by maintenance action on the ground.
