Attending events, ceremonies, festivals, immersing yourself in the local culture.

What is Dark tourism?
Visiting places associated with death/tragedy. Can be seen as disrespectful or educational.
What are heritage sites?
Religious/cultural/historical sites that are protected by UNESCO.
What is leisure tourism?
Travelling for relaxation and entertainment purposes.
What is UNESCO?
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It contributes to peace and security by promoting international cooperation in education, sciences, culture, communication and information. It protects heritage sites and keeps them from being harmed.
What is sports tourism?
Travelling to take part in or spectate sporting events.
What is adventure tourism?
Travelling to find a rush by doing extreme sports or activities such as mountaineering hiking.
What is wellness tourism?
Taking holidays to engage in activities that make us feel better spiritually, mentally or physically.

What is business tourism?
Travelling for meetings, conferences, or events (work).
- Events must be easily accessible by transport
- Sufficient facilities at hotels e.g. good WIFI

Travelling to understand more about the local culture or the country, or to study in that country.
