What are responsibilities of care assistants?
Practical help and support for people who cannot do daily activities. May include supporting older people and their families, children, people with physical or learning disabilities and/or mental health problems. Work in wide range of settings: Residential and nursing homes, supported or sheltered housing complexes
Some duties may be
Personal care- Washing, dressing, toileting, feeding
General household tasks- Cleaning, laundry, and shopping
Paying bulls and writing letters
Liaising with other healthcare professionals
What are responsibilities of midwives?
Midwives play a role in supporting women during all stages of pregnancy, they provide antennal and post-natal care and help families prepare for parenthood and delivery of babies in maternity departments in hospitals and at homes.
They may provide health education and advice to families
Midwives provide support at local GP practices, in women’s homes and children’s centres
What are responsibilities of healthcare assistants?
Healthcare assistants are known as nursing assistants and work alongside qualified healthcare professionals like nurses and midwives. Healthcare assistants work in GP practices, hospitals, nursing homes and other community healthcare settings.
Healthcare assistants’ roles: Taking and recording routine measurements, Weighing patients and recording the results, Taking patients to toilet, Making beds, Washing and dressing patients, Serving and assisting with feeding.
What are responsibilities of social workers?
Support for people of all ages through difficulty (Including Adults). Aims to provide safety and independence for the vulnerable: Children, the disabled, elderly, people with mental health problems, people leaving care and at-risk youth.
Works with service user’s family members and carers
Children and young people’s services support children and their families. Ensures children are safe through measures like relocation (Moving children from houses and families). Helps in fostering and adoption procedures.
What are responsibilities of occupational therapists?
Work with people of all ages who struggle with daily routines such as washing, bathing, homework, and shopping. These problems may be the result of disability, physical or psychological illness, or old age. The therapist will assist in overcoming barriers to an independent life. Occupational therapists work in people’s homes, GP practices, residential and nursing homes, prisons, social services, and other council departments in hospitals.

Care managers are responsible for the running of residential care, appoint and manage staff, budget, ensuring the quality of care meets standards required by the sector. Care managers will manage and supervise duties of care assistants working in the setting.
What are responsibilities of support workers?
Support workers worker under supervision of many health and social care professionals (Physiotherapists, occupational therapist, social workers) . Family support workers may work support social workers. Support workers may work closely with family.
