What is an Allegory?
An allegory is a story or a poem or picture that can be interpreted in ways where it means a moral or political meaning disguised by this. Often used to portray messages in which the person behind it may feel strongly about. Almost like a very extended metaphor.

What is an Anachronism?
An anachronism is a literary device in which someone or something is placed in a particular time in history which is wrong.
Example - If a painter were to paint aristotle with a wristwatch when knowing that wristwatches weren’t invented then.
What is Anthropomorphism?
The giving of a human characteristic or behaviour awarded to an animal or object.
-The Lion King represents hierarchy and pride.
What is an Alliteration?
Alliteration is when two or more words that start with the same sound are used repeatedly in a phrase or a sentence. … For example, ‘tasty tacos’ is considered an alliteration, but ‘thirty typist’ is not, because ‘th’ and ‘ty’ don’t sound the same. Alliteration is a type of repetition- a repetition of sounds.
What is Anaphora?
Anaphora - Anaphora is the repetition of words of certain phrases in a group of sentences, clauses and poetic lining making sure the word is at the beginning of the sentence.
Example - ‘’We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and the oceans’’
What is an Allusion?
An allusion is when we hint something and expect the other person to understand what we are referencing. It may be an indirect or an implied reference

Anastrophe - Anastrophe also known as inversion is a technique involving the rhetoric were the syntactic reversal of the normal order of the words and phrases in a sentence.
Example - A roast is what we will have for dinner.
