What do we need to do to have a balanced diet?
We need to eat the correct amount of each of the 6 nutrients.

The foods in this group are good sources of protein, which is needed for growth and repair of body cells

The foods in thus group are good sources of calcium and protein. Calcium is needed for strong bones and teeth. Choose ole cat options except for under fives
Why do we need the fruit and vegetables group?
The foods in thus group are good sources of vitamins and minerals. Many contain fibre to prevent constipation.
Why do we need the cereal and potato group?
The goods in this group are needed for energy. Choose whole meal options, as they contain more fibre to prevent constipation.
What is sedentary worker and what is a manual worker?
A sedentary worker is somebody who sits most of the day during work e.g. Office worker. A manual worker does not sit most of the day and gets exercise while doing their job e.g. Builder

Breast feed if possible for the first 6 months
