  1. Put a few drops of each sample into its own labelled test tube and add 2cm3 of ethanol shaking thoroughly

What are the steps to prepare a solid sample to test for lipid

A

Add the sample and 2cm3 of ethanol into a test tube. Use a glass rod to mash the solid, cleaning it between samples to avoid cross contamination. Shake it thoroughly and allow solid to settle at the bottom.
