9 ECG RHYTHM STRIPS Flashcards
1
Q
Normal Sinus rhythm
A
- 60 bpm-100
- normal
- causes l: being healthy
2
Q
Bradycardia
A
- less than 60 bpm
- causes meds ( CCB, and Beta blockers)
- Tx: Atropine
- memory trick: HR on top of the PINE tree.
- Brady Bunch for slower time
3
Q
Atrial Flutter
A
Aka:
SawTooTh
Tx: same as A. Fib 1. Dig: ( Deep contraction) • check ATP • Apical pulse for 1 min. • Toxicity ( max 2.0 range) • Potassium (3.5-5.0)
4
Q
Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib)
A
• No P wave: Fibrillation Flopping - causes: valvular disease, pulmonary HTN heart failure. -• tx: 1. Digoxin = Deep contraction • check ATP - Apical pulse for 60 min. - Toxicity ( Max range 2.0) visual disturbances, n/v and anorexia - Potassium (3.5-5.0)
5
Q
Ventricular Fibrillation
aka (V. Fib)
A
• Fib is flopping = squiggly lines
• causes: Post MI, untreated V-tach, hypoxia
- Tx: V- Fib =Defib # 1 Defibrillation
1. Immediately STOP CPR to do it & before
drugs ! “No synchronization needed
2. Drugs:! LAP =!Lidocaine , Amiodarone
and Procainamide
6
Q
Ventricular tachycardia
aka ( V-Tach)
A
• V-tach Tombstone Causes: Post MI, Hypoxia Low potassium & low magnesium * magnesium mellows the muscles Tx: early defib • apply defib pads • call out and look for everyone to be CLEAR! • shock & immediately continue chest compressions • v-tach w/ pulse cardioversion • v-tach w/o pulse defib.
