- to prevent blood clots

- keep dietary vitamin K (green leafy vegetables) and alcohol consumption consistent

INDICATIONS/USE: furosemide
- edema (swelling)
- heart failure
- hypertension
COUNSELING TIPS: furosemide
- sun sensitivity
- decreased electrolytes (Ca++, K++, Mg++)
- dizziness upon standing
- avoid taking at bedtime - increases urination
