80t-122 Flashcards
Required Lighting Equipment
Without a visible horizon: Horizon Reference System (when installed) shall be utilized for single spot ship operations
Permissible Lighting Equipment Degradations - UNAIDED OPS
Night unaided VMC ops may be conducted in the event of a failure of not more than one of the lighting subsystems required for ship’s facility certification provided one of the following is met:
- Visible horizon exists and is discernible by the aircraft commander in the shipboard ldg/to environment.
- Ship CO and air OIC concur that the failed lighting system is not critical to the scheduled mission.
Permissible Lighting Equipment - AIDED OPS
Aided ops may be conducted with degradation of more than one lighting system if all of the following criteria are met:
- Visible horizon exists and is discernible through NVDs by HAC in the shipboard ldg/to environment.
- Ship CO and Air OIC concur that the degraded system is not critical to the mission.
- Following lighting subsystems remain operational and available:
a. Advanced Stabilized Glide Slope (if installed)
b. Aviation Lighting System Control Panel Set (if installed)
c. Associated Lighting Control Panels
d. Overhead/Forward Structure Floodlights
e. Deck Surface/Hangar Wash Floodlights.
