Middle ear swelling & pain: Heat in Lesser Yang (GB & TW)
Mouth/Lip signs
Lips = SP, Mouth = ST/SP
Teeth = KD, Gums = ST
Tonsils Signs
Normal but swollen: Dampness/Phlegm with Qi deficiency Red & swollen: Heat in ST &/or LI
Acute=Wind Heat invasion Chronic=Empty LU heat
Edema Signs
Pitting = yang deficiency Hands=LU, Feet=KD, Both=SP Non Pitting = Qi stagnation
Nails Signs
Pale = Blood deficiency
Bluish = Blood stasis (LV) Ridged = LV blood deficiency
Tremor Signs
LV wind or Qi & Blood deficiency
Skin Signs
Dry = LV blood deficiency
Itchy = Wind
Yellow: Bright=yang jaundice from damp heat, Dull=yin jaundice from damp cold Veins: Red=heat, Purple=Bl stasis, Blue=cold
Papules = Heat in LU/ST
Vesicles = Dampness
Macules = Blood disharmony
Menses Signs
Pain Before = Qi or Blood stagnation
During = Blood heat, Blood stasis or Cold stagnation
After = Blood deficiency
Leucorrhea
Color: White=Cold from SP/KD Yang defic, Exter. Cold Damp, LV Qi stagnation Yellow=Damp heat in lower burner
Green= Damp heat in LV
Red & White= Damp heat
Yellow w pus & blood post menopause: Damp heat in uterus Consistency: Watery = Damp cold Thick = Damp heat
Smell: Fishy = Damp Cold Leathery = Damp heat
