What do you know about the Australian vaccination program?
A
- Recommended vaccines are spoken about very soon after the child is born and parents are given approximate dates when injections and boosters need to be given
- The child care support and maternity allowance are dependant on children having up to date vaccinations and if a parent chooses not to have her child vaccinated, they must sign an objection form that is signed by the GP

What are some of the issues with taking away welfare money?

- If you remove welfare money, then there is less incentive for parents to have their child vaccinated on time since the child care support/maternity allowance are dependent on this
- If we take away welfare money from those who decide not to have their child vaccinated, then this may affect the child and the mother’s lives (spoke about a number of ways this had an impact)
