Emily is a 20-year-old with mental disability. Her parents bought her an apartment to give her independence. Neighbours don’t want her there. Recently, you noticed there’s noise at her place and you suspect that young people are coming over to buy alcohol using her welfare money.

• Suggest alternatives e.g. community support group, neighbours
• Unresolveed: approach parents and ask if they knew about the noise coming from x apartment to gain an understanding of how much they know
• Then approach parents AND Emily together (giving her the respect she deserves) so she can clarify any misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the situation I tell the parents about which would be my suspicions that shes being used
