The baptism of Jesus was a sign that he accepted his mission as Messiah. He was ready to proclaim and make present the Kingdom of God. He was ready to die for us. (Jesus’ baptism was not a Christian baptism for the forgiveness of sin. It was a sign that he accepted his mission as Messiah. He took on the sins of the world.)
