Q

what is the Pyruvate oxidation process?

A

fist part of pyruvate molecule is oxidized and splits off to form carbon dioxide. the electrons lost are donated to NAD+ which is reduced to NADH. remaining part of pyruvate molecule is transferred into acetyl-CoA which releases carbon dioxide and NADH.
