Define sexual harassment
Unwelcome sexual advances; requests for sexual favors; verbal/physical conduct of a sexual nature; complicity
Classification system for sexual harassment
Traffic light classification - green, yellow, red
Categories of sexual harassment
Touching (e.g., sexually suggestive touching, leaning over, cornering, pinching and brushing against)
Language (e.g., sexually suggestive teasing, jokes, remarks, questions, whistles, calls or yells, and pressure for sexual favors or dates)
Gestures (e.g., sexually suggestive looks, gestures, body language, letters, and telephone calls)
Climate (e.g., materials, pictures, cartoons, or posters of a sexual nature in work spaces).
Define ethics
A set of standards or a value system by which free, human actions are ultimately determined as right or wrong, good or evil
Define Morals
Pertaining to or concerned with right conduct or the distinction between right or wrong. Morality covers the extensive field of personal and social behavior

Additional ideals and practices that grow out of one’s professional privileges and responsibilities

A situation that requires a choice between equally undesirable alternatives

Define Hazing
CAHO
- Conduct whereby one military member, regardless of Service or rank, causes another military member, regardless of Service or rank, to suffer or be exposed to an activity which is cruel, abusive, humiliating, or oppressive
- Hazing need not involve physical contact among or between military members; it can be verbal or psychological in nature
Not included in the definition of hazing
Hazing does not include mission or operational activities; the requisite training to prepare for such missions or operations; administrative corrective measures; extra military instruction as defined in the reference; command authorized physical training; authorized incentive training permitted at the Marine Corps Recruit Depots; and other similar activities authorized by the chain of command
Define deadly force
Force which a person uses with the purpose of causing or which is known or should be reasonably known to constitute likelihood of death or serious bodily harm
Justifications for the use of deadly force
Justified if the following criteria are met in any one of the subsequent circumstances:
- Under conditions of extreme necessity
- As a last resort
- When all lesser means have failed or cannot be reasonably employed
Circumstances when deadly force is authorized
- Self-defense and defense of others - reasonably believed to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm
- Defense of property involving national security - prevent the actual or threatened theft of, damage to, espionage
- Defense of property not involving national security but inherently dangerous to others - property whose theft or destruction presents a substantial potential danger of death or serious bodily injury to others, such as operable weapons and ammunition
- To prevent or interrupt serious offenses against persons
- Apprehension or arrest - need probable cause
- Escapes
- Lawful order
