What level should problems be handled?
The lowest level possible
Define the informal resolution system
Designed to address behaviors which are inappropriate but do not constitute an offense under the UCMJ
Informal direct method
Peer to peer
Informal third party
normally a friend, coworker, or the EOA
Training Information Resources
Request training or resource materials for presentation to the work place of prohibited activities and conduct
Chain of Command
primary and preferred channel for correcting discriminatory practices and for communicating EO matters
Define your responsibility within the CoC when issues are observed
Anyone who witnesses an act of discrimination has a responsibility to address, correct or report the inappropriate behavior immediately
Formal resolution methods
Request mast or pursue a complaint under Article 138
Define request mast
- Opportunity to address a grievance with commander
- Satisfaction is not guaranteed
- Not intended to be used for the purpose of harassment where there is no merit or systemic issue to address
USMC policy on alcohol abuse
Proactive - education and deterrent measures; avoid encouragement
Reactive - alcoholic related incident occurred; take appropriate disciplinary, judicial, or administrative action; and evaluate the individual
Disciplinary Measures
USMC policy on illegal drugs
Four inherent elements: leadership, enforcement of standards, identification, and education
Zero tolerance to drugs and then urinalysis tested for the presence of any illegal substances
