what is reimaging

new imagery that picture modernisation
usually comes with a slogan
regeneration
long term process involving economic physical and social actions.
what are they used for
Regeneration and rebranding are often designed to tackle inequalities in either urban or rural places, and make places more economically productive and/or socially acceptable.
Why could re-branding be needed in an area??
To compete to attract inward investment and visitors (tourism/business).
To increase public or consumer awareness of changes that have/will improve social, economic and physical characteristics of a place.
To emphasize the distinctiveness and attractiveness of a place.
To discard negative images associated with deindustrialisation, public disorder, crime, multiple deprivation, etc.
To promote pride in a place by local communities
The process of rebranding
reimaging and regeneration lead to rebranding
Places vary in their dynamism (the rate at which they change).
E.g. smaller or more remote places may change socially and economically more slowly than larger cities, while villages close to cities will be affected by commuting. Places may lose or gain their attractiveness, value or defining attributes.
Therefore there are differential needs for regeneration and rebranding between places.
