Q

Describe what a triplet base is and what it codes for

A

A triplet code is where each codon consists of three nonoverlapping, nuceoltides. The code is degenerate, as different triplet base pairs can code for the same amino acid

Hidden within the genetic code lies the triplet code a series of three nucleotides that determine a single amino acid.

Q

There are 3 different types of gene mutations describe them.

A

Insertion: this type of mutation that involves the addition of one or more nucleotides into a segment of DNA

Deletion: this type of mutation that involves the loss of one or more nucleotides from a segment of DNA

Substitution: this type of mutation in which one nucleotide is replaced by a different nucleotide (this mutation can eather case a mis sense mutation wich can cause a different protein to be coded non sens mutations wont case a change in the end protein).
