Worship
To give someone or something great worth and make it a central part of your life.
Dome
Symbolises the universe. Reminds muslims this a place where you go and pray to Allah, the creator and sustainer of the universe. Also amplifies the Imams voice
Minaret
Tower. Traditionally, a muezzin would climb to the top and call Muslims to mosque for prayer. These days decorative.
Prayer hall
No seats and Muslims pray on floor, often divided to create separate prayer mats. Men and women often separated as to not distract each other.
Mihrab
On the front wall of the prayer hall (the qibla wall). In middle of wall the niche👈 mihrab. It points in the direction of Makkah, so shows Muslims which way to face in prayer.
Minbar
A platform from which the Imam delivers the sermon. The Imam stops at one of the lower steps as the top is restricted for Muhammad only.
Madrassah
Islamic school where both children and adults can learn more about Islam.
