A
Unearned privilege is gaining a benefit that you didn’t work for
Privilege is tolerable because you don’t think about those being disadvantaged; after recognizing our privilege, support others in recognizing theirs (of lack of it, depending on situation).

A
- how a person views and understands the world based on personal experiences
- dictates how we relate to each other
- the way the world works
- affected by family, education, peers, community, geography, diet, society, etc.
- protects your self-concept
- serves us to feel good about ourselves
Consider to what degree culture impacts your values and how you see the world and to what degree does the person identify with American culture and another culture
