CBD- main use is commercial- mix of high rise office buildings land is very expensive 
Inner city- examples are Newham and Chelsea- low class and high class residential high density and old terraced housing poor environmental quality and some greenspace 
Suburbs- kingston upon thames- middle class residential good quality housing more greenspace shops and restaurants 
Rural urban fringe- industrial and high class residential- large detached houses, oil refineries and manufacturing
