What can a critical path analysis be used for?

A

Plan shortest time in which a project could be completed, by scheduling tasks that can be carried out at the same time.
Identify float time for each activity

What are the advantages of a critical path analysis?

A

Allows shortest time to be worked out
Identifies activities on CP to be prioritised in terms of resource allocation
Enables just-in-time to be practised

What are the disadvantages of a critical path analysis?

A

Duration for each activity is only an estimate and can be inaccurate
CPA can be complicated when there are many activities
Doesn’t take into account changes in external or internal factors
