5.1) Sprint Flashcards
What is the goal of the Sprint?
To create a “Done” usable and potentially releasable product increment.
What is the time-box of a Sprint?
1 month or less. Duration is consistent throughout the development.
When does the new Sprint start?
Immediately after the conclusion of the previous one.
Sprint consists out of which Events?
Sprint Planing
Daily Scrum
Sprint Review
Sprint Retrospective
What happens during the Sprint?
- no changes are made that would endanger the Sprint Goal
- Quality goals do not decrease
- as more is learned, scope may be clarified and re-negotiated between the Product Owner and the Development Team
What is the risk of a Sprint being longer than a month?
The definition of what needs to be built may change, complexity may rise and risk may increase.
Who may Cancel the Sprint?
Only the Product Owner has this authority.
When would a Sprint be cancelled?
When the Sprint Goal becomes obsolete.
Example - company changes direction, or if market/technology conditions change.
- Due to short duration of Sprints, this rarely makes sense.
What happens when a Sprint is cancelled?
Any “Done” Product Backlog items are reviewed - if some of them are potentially releasable the Product Owner can accept them.
All incomplete items are re-estimated and put back in the Product Backlog.
