What is an isomer
A molecule that is made of the same stuff but shaped differently making it react differently.
Monomer and polymer
The best definition of a monomer is a single something, and a polymer is a collection of multiple monomers
What happens during dehydration synthesis
When dehydration synthesis happens, an H molecule and an OH molecule are pulled from two monomers. Those monomers then bond.
What happens during Hydrolysis
An H2O molecule is split up into a H and OH molecule and given to the monomers. The monomers then split.
Why is carbon a good building block for life
It forms strong covalent bonds that can´t be split apart easily.
Describe the relationship between all of the terms: monomers, polymers, dehydration synthesis, and hydrolysis
Polymers are formed from monomers via dehydration synthesis. And polymers are broken down into monomers via hydrolysis
