How can we record and collect data?
Notes, audio/video interviews, surveys.
Pros and cons of Notes + Photos?
+ Least technical and most flexible (pen and paper is easier than diagrams)
+ Helps focus on whats important
- Tiring to write, listen and observe.
- Easy to lose concentration.
- Bias can occur
- Handwriting can be hard to read for other people or self because of speed.
Pros and cons of Audio + Photos?
+ Less intrusive than video
+ Focus on person and not on taking notes
+ Can transcribe data thats releant
- Audio quality must be good.
- Participants might be more reluctant
Pros and cons of Video?
+ Can use a smartphone, easy to use and set up.
+ Get facial expressions
- Might impact the participant’s behaviour
- Need to find a suitable recording location
Name the two types of interview questions with pros and cons.
1- Close questions (yes/no)
+ Easier to analyze
+ Same questions with every participants, should be short and clearly worded.
- Useless if the goals and hypothesis to test arent clearly understood and defined.
2- Open-ended questions no predetermined format.
+ Rich data, deep understanding but
- time-consuming to analyze
+ Can follow up relevant answers with unanticipated inquiries

Visualization of the process that a person goes through in order to accomplish a goal.
