A

+ Least technical and most flexible (pen and paper is easier than diagrams)
+ Helps focus on whats important

  • Tiring to write, listen and observe.
  • Easy to lose concentration.
  • Bias can occur
  • Handwriting can be hard to read for other people or self because of speed.

A

+ Less intrusive than video
+ Focus on person and not on taking notes
+ Can transcribe data thats releant

  • Audio quality must be good.
  • Participants might be more reluctant

A

+ Can use a smartphone, easy to use and set up.
+ Get facial expressions

  • Might impact the participant’s behaviour
  • Need to find a suitable recording location

Name the two types of interview questions with pros and cons.

A

1- Close questions (yes/no)
+ Easier to analyze
+ Same questions with every participants, should be short and clearly worded.
- Useless if the goals and hypothesis to test arent clearly understood and defined.
2- Open-ended questions no predetermined format.
+ Rich data, deep understanding but
- time-consuming to analyze
+ Can follow up relevant answers with unanticipated inquiries
