Red flags for behaviour (antecedent, beahviour, consequences)
Antecedent - no clear or reasonable trigger - occurring in multiple environments Behaviour - clearly developmentally inappropriate - regression - multiple concerning behavious Consequences - harmful to self/others - affecting function of child/family
6 different stages of play and age appropriate
unoccupied play: child just observing
solitary play: child plays alone, focused on own activity, unaware and uninsterested in others (age <3)
onlooker play: watches others play but does not engage in it - talk about play but do not join in (2-3 years)
parallel play: plays separately but close to others, often mimicks their actions (2.5-4 years)
assosciative play: interested in playing with others and interacts with others, but activity is not organised or co-ordinated (3-4 years)
cooperative play: child is interested in people playing and activity; activity is organised and participants have assigned roles - 4.5 yrs>
3 types of play
sensory- look, listen, touch, taste
functional (cause and effect) - hit, push
imaginative= role play, pretend play
