Downs Syndrome
- Decreased AFP and nuchal Translucency
- 95% from meotic nondisjunction and 5% from unbalanced robertsonian translocation
Edwards
- Rocker bottom feet, clenched hands and occiput Low ears
- Decreased everything
- 2nd most common
Patau
- Polydactyly, holoprosencephaly, cleft lip and palate
- Trisomy 13
- Rocker bottom feet and nuchal translucenccy
- Decreased PaPPA and increased nuchal rigidity
Williams
- Deletion of 7q
- Elastin gene leads to elvin facies and extreme friendliness with strangers
- Hypercalcemia and aortic stenosis
Cri Du Chat
Deletion of 5p
- Mild retardation and high pitched cry
- Microcephaly
Maxillary Sinus
Is large and is inferior to the orbit
-Only on present at birth
Ethmoid Sinus
Air Cells lie just lateral to nose and medial to orbit
Frontal Sinus
Lies superior to the orbit and obliquely lateral to the nose
Sphenoid Sinus
Lies within the sphenoid bone and is just inferior to the sella tursica
Superior Orbital Fissure
-V1, 4, 3, 6 enter through here and cavernous sinus
Optic Canal
Contains only the optic nerve and opthalmic artery which is a branch directly off internal carotid
Inferior orbital fissure
-Contains branches of the maxillary artery to supply the face and nose and also V2
