A

5 and 2 NM

Q

19
Q

If told to STANDBY or given no response to a closed request, you should _________

A

turn crosswind IAW crosswind turning points

20
Q

If told NEGATIVE CLOSED/NEGATIVE LOW KEY, you should __________

A

turn crosswind IAW crosswind turning points

21
Q

If told to EXTEND, you should ______

A

request closed/low key if desired, and CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD UNTIL RSU APPROVES REQUEST OR DIRECTS CROSSWIND TURN

22
Q

Normally, aircrew should request high key from

Initial

23
Q

When should you not request high key?

A

-Aircraft between 5 and 2 nm on straight in
-Aircraft in between “REPORT HIGH KEY” and “REPORT LOW KEY”
-When an aircraft reports overhead the field direct to VFR entry (Honcho only)
-With an aircraft orbiting at high key
-With an aircraft in the high pattern

24
Q

Aircrew may request direct high key from any pattern position under the following circumstances:

A

-No more than 3 (Honcho)/5(Wizard) aircraft in the pattern
-No one is on a breakout
-There are no aircraft between “REPORT HIGH KEY” and “REPORT LOW KEY”

Q

If told “NEGATIVE HIGH KEY” after requesting direct high key what should you do?

A

Continue to fly the overhead pattern ground track.

Q

-With an aircraft between “Report High Key” and “Report Low Key” (except at wizard you may request break for practice breakout if the other aircraft is flying the ELP on the opposite side
-With an aircraft orbiting high key
