4.6 Transfer Between The Circulatory System And Cells Flashcards
Describe formation of Tissue fluid
At the partial end hydrostatic pressure is greater then oncotic pressure and fluid moves out. At the venous end oncotic pressure is greater then hydrostatic pressure and fluid moves out of capillaries forming tissue fluid excess fluid has to drain into the lymphatic system to prevent tissue form swelling. The lymph contains lymphocytes that produce antibodies which are emptied into the blood along with lymph. Lymph glands also remove bacteria and other pathogens which is why the lymph nodes swell when there is an infection in the body
What is tissue fluid
A watery substance containing glucose, amino acids oxygen and other nutrients supplying these too cells and remove any waste materials
What type of pressure influences tissue fluid
Hydrostatic pressure - higher at the arterial end of capillary then venous end
Oncotic pressure - changing water potential of the capillaries as water moves out
