Robert: Hi Jane. Ich habe gerade mein Buch ausgelesen. Kann ich mir etwas von Dir leihen?
Robert: Hi Jane. I’ve just finished my book. Do you have something I could borrow?
Jane: Ja, ich habe viele Bücher. Welche Art von Buch möchtest Du denn? Welches Buch hast Du ausgelesen?
Jane: Yes, I’ve got loads of books. What kind of thing do you want? What book did you just finish?
Robert: Ich habe einen Sachtext gelesen, das Tagebuch eines Reisenden vor vielen Jahren. Mir gefällt aber vieles.
Robert: The one I read was actually non-fiction, a diary of a traveller many years ago. But I like lots of things really.
Jane: Nun, ich habe eine Autobiographie eines anderen Reisenden. Er ist Spanier, ist aber im Afrika der 50er Jahre aufgewachsen.
Jane: Well, I have an autobiography by another traveller. He’s Spanish but grew up in Africa in the 50s.
Robert: Klingt toll. Ich mag Bücher, die einen Hauch von Abenteuer innehaben und es mir ermöglichen, etwas über eine bestimmte Zeit oder einen bestimmten Ort zu erfahren.
Robert: That sounds perfect. I really like books that give me a sense of adventure and help me learn about a particular place or time.
Jane: Dann ist dieses Buch sehr gut, da es viele traditionelle afrikanische Geschichten enthält und auch Gedichte, die der Autor gehört oder gelesen hat als er aufwuchs.
Jane: Actually, this one is also good because it contains lots of traditional African stories and poetry that the author heard or read as he grew up.
Robert: Klingt wirklich interessant. Danke, dass ich es mir leihen kann. Was liest Du im Moment?
Robert: That sounds really interesting. Thanks for letting me borrow it. What are you reading at the moment?
Jane: Ich habe einen Roman eines russischen Autors angefangen. Er ist in den frühen 80ern angesiedelt und die Hauptfigur ist eine sehr intelligente junge Frau. Es ist wirklich gut.
Jane: I’ve just started a novel by a Russian author. It is set in the early 80s and the main character is a very intelligent young woman. It’s really good.
