this describes where the settlement is in relation to other settlements and the features of the surrounding area, eg is the settlement surrounded by forest or is it next to a large city?

located on Birmingham plateau. Began as a small village - built on a dry point site, south-facing sandstone ridge.
What is the situation of Birmingham?
located centrally in England, has exellent road links to the North and South.
What are the connectivity features Birmingham has to offer?
Birmingham International airport, Birmingham New Street railway station, easy m5, m6, and m42 access, that provides national links to the West Midlands.
