How did Alexander the Great’s conquest affect the translation of the Old Testament? (Explain in one or two sentences.)
Alexander the Great’s conquest affected the translation of the Old Testament because Greek culture, including its language, flourished during his conquest, which in return made Greek a popular language among people. Therefore, the Jews saw their opportunity to translate scripture; since they did not know Hebrew, they translated it into Greek, which exposed more people to the scripture.
