Define Mitigation and Prevention.

A
Mitigation = sustained action to reduce or eliminate long term risk to life and property.  Decreases need for response, includes identifying all potential hazards dangers and identify how to reduce the risk 
Prevention = attempt to prevent incidents by creating a safe, supportive, and orderly school environment; balance of physical and psychological safety

A

A

“M”= Multi
Multi-Phase = this approach involves all pahses of crisis managment
Multi-Hazards = the importance of doing physical and psychological safety assessments to determine strengths and needs
Multi-Agency = collaboration with other groups and agencies
Multi-tiered = levels of intervention being implemented across the MTSS
