Independence or freedom from an individual’s will; the right to choose.
Autonomy

Beneficence
Principle by which we as a society decide to allocate resources that are in scarce supply.
Distributive Justice
Rules of conduct with respect to a particular class of actions, based on ideas about what is morally good and bad.
Ethics
Originating from outside one’s self; motivation coming from factors outside of an individual.
Extrinsic
Belonging to one’s self inherently; motivation coming from within an individual.
Intrinsic
Pertaining to distinction of “right” and “wrong”.
Morals
Standards by which an organization will hold itself accountable to proper conduct.
Organizational Ethics
Framework of evaluating conduct applicable to members of a given profession.
Professional Ethics
Beliefs that are important to a person/organization that influence attitudes or behavior.
