Headache has 2 of the following characteristics:
- bilateral location
- pressing/tightening (non-pulsating) quality
- mild or moderate intensity
- not aggravated by routine physical activity
NO PHOTOPHOBIA/PHONOPHOBIA
Infrequent episodic TTH
Same as infrequent episodic but (>=12 and <180 d/y)
FREQUENT episodic TTH
Tension type criteria but with duration >180 d/y for >3 mo; no pulsating
Chronic TTH
- ipsilateral conjunctival injection and/or lacrimation
- ipsilateral nasal congestion and/or rhinorrhoea
- ipsilateral eyelid oedema
- ipsilateral forehead and facial sweating
- ipsilateral miosis and/or ptosis
- a sense of restlessness or agitation
Cluster Headache
Severe or very severe unilateral orbital, supraorbital
and/or temporal pain lasting 15-180 min if untreated
Cluster Headache

TACs (trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias)
same with Cluster Headache but with Attacks are prevented completely by therapeutic doses
of indomethacin
PAROXYSMAL hemicrania
ONLY: Pain is accompanied by ipsilateral conjunctival
injection and lacrimation; 5-240 s ATTACKS
Short-lasting Unilateral
Neuralgiform headache
Primary headache
associated with sexual activity
PREORGASMIC
ORGASMIC
(“explosive”) headache, OCCURS at orgasm
orgasmic headache
Dull ache in the head; Occurs during sexual activity and increases with
sexual excitement
Preorgasmic headache
headache Develops only during sleep, and awakens patient
Hypnic headache
