In what two parts is the briefing split
- general and type specific

General and type specific part:
- allocate crew positions
- nominate the most appropriately CCM to act as SCCM when procedures require
- brief about about type or registration specific differences
Risk, threat, error part
- unusual or unique situations that may present a risk or threat to the flight
- safety trend data
- changes in safety procedures
Joint briefing consists of:
- flight time
- weather
- taxi time
- de-icing
- identify chain of command
When must we do a full pre-departure check?
- The first time a cabin crew member board an aeroplane is an operational crew-member
- after an aeroplane has been left unattended by a crew for any period of time
- at the commanders discretion
How do we perform the pre-departure checks?
With CQRH
What do you check at the pre- departure check?
- safety equipment
- PA check
- Doors
- crew seat
- lavatories
- crew rest areas
- water/waste
How do you pass confirmation of the pre-departure checks?
- via interphone CCM>SCCM
- “pre departure safety and security checks completed”
What’s the task of 4L
4L wil be responsible for communication to SCCM to tell checks are complete

Cabin crew boarding complete

What’s the arm slides call-out? And responses?

When do you preform a headcount?
- when instructed by commander
- when transit pax remain on board
- when number service provider does not correspond with the number of the load sheet
What’s the correct order of the DEMO?
- exits + floor proximity lights
- oxygen mask

- safety briefing card
When is the FCC a sterile place
- from engine start to 10.000 ft (top of climb PA or interphone call)
- from 10.000 ft to engine shut down
When is the Cabin sterile?
- from SCM command “cabin crew arm slides “ until completion of confirmation towards SCCM
- from engine start until CCMs are released from crew seat
- landing: from seating CCMs until passing of confirmation of slide disarmed
- during any other phases of flight determinated by commander or SCCM

How do you brief a blind pax
- tell them nr of seat rows between seat and exit
- exit door height and width
- location of LJ (let it feel)
- check if they can fasten seatbelt
- explain where the mask will drop from and let them feel the bag
How do you brief a deaf pax
Offer a copy of the safety PA for the pax to read prior to departure
What are the cabin secure check call-outs?
“Doors 4 secure”

What’s the top of descent (landing in 30 min) call out?
“Cabin crew prepare for arrival”
