Atheism
A system of belief that asserts categorically that there is no God. Like agnosticism.
Atonement
refers to God’s act of dealing with the primary human problem, sin. Covering over sin.
Attributes of God
in General, an attribue is a characteristic or quality used to describe an object or person. When speaking of the attributes of God, theologians note that characteristics or qualities that are essential to our understanding of God as God relates to us as created beings
Augustine
Western church theologian who integrated Platonic philosophy with theology. Seeing the complete sinfulness of humankind asserted that God predestines those who are enabled to repent and believe.
Baptism
the practice of sprinkling with, pouring on, or immersing in water as an act of Christian initiation and obedience to Christ’s own commands.
Baptismal regeneration
The belief that water baptism effects the saving work of the Holy Spirit in washing away original sin

Biblical criticism
the method/s by which meanings of biblical texts are sought through the application of techniques used in interpreting various types of literature.
Biblical theology
Biblical theology is the discipline that attempts to summarize and restate the teaching of a biblical text or of a biblical author without imposing any modern categories of thought on the text.
