I’m going to talk about a positive change that I made to my life. To be honest, going to bed early was not really my kind of thing before. But, because it was not good for my health, I decided to change my bad habit of late nights about a year ago.
As far as I remember, my late sleeping pattern had begun when I was studying for my university entrance exam 4 years ago. During that time, I had tended to stay up pretty late to do my assignments. Gradually, I became used to the habit and still kept it up until a year ago. Then, I found myself having eye-related problems and headaches [‘hedeik]. Therefore, I went to see a doctor for a medical check-up. It turned out that the major cause of these health problems was my late nights. The doctor advised me to change my routine as soon as possible to treat the symptoms [‘simptəm] effectively.
Since that time, I have tried my best to maintain an early sleeping habit, because I don’t want to put my health at unnecessary risk. Now, I usually read something light before going to bed at 11pm. Of course, this also helps me to get up earlier the next morning.
At the moment, I find that it has been a good decision to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I learnt that, sometimes, you should do something to break harmful habits in order to make your life better.
