What is the Employment Law?
It is designed to protect workers from employers who may treat them unfairly.
What is Discrimination?
When one worker is treated differently from another for no acceptable reason.
What is Contract of Employment?
A legal agreement between an employer and an employee.
What is Holiday Entitlement?
The amount of paid holiday a worker can have in one year.
What is The Equality Act (2010).
It brought together 116 pieces of legalisation into one single Act which is designed to protect the rights of workers.
What are some examples of Discrimination?
Equal pay.
Race.
Sex.
Disability.
Sexual orientation.
Religion or belief.
How many weeks of Paid Holiday are workers entitled to have?
5.6 weeks.
How do you work out Holiday Entitlement?
No. days worker per week x 5.6 = holiday entitlement.
What is the limit for how long a worker can work over a 17-week period?
No more than 48 hours on average.
How to work out Average Number of Hours Per Week?
Number of hours worked / 17 = average number of hours per week.
